National Service Scheme (NSS) IIT Kharagpur

[ Blood Donation Camp of 16th March, 2013 :  Registration Link  and necessary information in our  previous post . ] Though the mid-sem. exam. is going on, NSS, IIT Kharagpur students and faculty had an window of opportunity to participate in the institute organized “Shashwata Bharat” program in the campus on 23 rd February, 2013 evening. The program was attended by people of our neighbourhood too. Invitations were sent to schools and various organizations. We had a great participation from Tata Bearings family. They came a bus full, chanting hymns. Their children wing performed a nice arati after the garlanding of Vivekananda idol by Prof. Ajit Pal, a senior Professor of IIT Kharagpur. We welcome every healthy individual, within the age group of 18 - 60 years and with a body weight of minimum 45 kgs, to come forward and donate blood for Government Blood Bank. Annual Sports at Chhatishgarh High School: It is a great experience for all the members of UNIT 10 who are working in Chattisgarh High School,  Ayma to be a part of their ANNUAL SPORTS MEET held on January 26, 2013. Various sports activities of the school have started one week before for all classes giving opportunity to every one of the school. The finals were held on Republic Day for events that include Running, Skipping, Hurdles ,Long jump, High jump etc. The tiffin race for kids was one of the game that attracted many students, teachers and community of the village. The final sport events have started at 12 noon. The Principal of the school Sri Alok Sinha and senior most teacher  Shankar Sir welcomed the various council members.  The program was attended by NSS CO-ORDINATOR Prof. Goutam Saha and Programme Officer Prof. N.D.Pradeep Singh. The discussion started informally when a member of IIT Kharagpur campus community approached NSS, IIT Kharagpur team about possibility of having Vivekdisha program ( Link   Link2 ) in our neighbourhood village high schools. The aim is to enhance education experience by conducting Online classes through multimedia : From class 6 onward. The audio part of this video ( Link and also at the end of this post) gives a short introduction in Bengali. This was delivered at Balarampur village on 07-02-2013. The images of the video are the ones taken at Balarampur and Talbagicha High School. The last few frames captures a brief stop over of Vivekdisha team in our campus.  The concerned program officers were very enthusiastic.
