National Service Scheme (NSS) IIT Kharagpur

[ Blood Donation Camp of 16th March, 2013 :  Registration Link  and necessary information in our  previous post . ] In this post, we present the activities taken up by Pariapara Village Unit (UNIT 5) of NSS, IIT Kharagpur. We present their journey through pictures. First, the survey of drinking water condition and issues faced by villagers: The student volunteers then interacted with School of Water Resources of IIT Kharagpur for solution of the problems observed by them. While that takes some time to take a concrete shape, water filter was provided to village primary school. Here are few pictures. Student volunteers continued to work with village school children in encouraging and helping them in study. They also cleaned the village school play ground.

This is the third in series describing activities taken up by campers of NSS, IIT Kharagpur in just concluded annual camp. Previous posts on the camp can be found here ( Link1 , Link2 ). In this series, we highlight the physical work undertaken by the young IITians. There are four set of pictures. The first set of pictures shows the bush cleaning job the executives of an Ashram  who run an orphanage, school, requested us to do. The first picture shows what it was before cleaning and the subsequent pictures shows NSS volunteers at work with Ashram children watching what IIT elders are doing. The second set of pictures in this series describes what village panchayet of Gangadharpur village and Gaighata village wanted from the campers. This is rebuilding of existing village road.
