NSS Day Celebration: Part II

We continue with our update on NSS Day celebration. In our previous post (Link) we shared with readers how first session of this function went where Director, IIT Kharagpur, Director, IIT Hyderabad, Addistional Secretary (Technical Education), MHRD, B.D.O., Jt. B.D.O., Panchayet Members were with NSS, IIT Kharagpur team. In this session, backward caste certificates to tribals of two neighbouring villages were done. For them NSS team conducted a special caste certificate camp last year with the help of BDO office and village Panchayet. In the second session (5:00 - 7:30 PM), first NSS activities were presented in brief by student volunteers. Then PRERANA scholarship recipients were felicitated. This scholarship is instituted by ex-NSS volunteers, now alumni where about 50 students from village primary / high school gets a scholarship of worth approx. Rs. 80,000 per year. Following this, there was a cultural program presented by village school students that had recitation, dance, skit. We present below some of the pictures taken in that evening.
